Description
Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Ultimate is a men's reusable razor designed to provide a close, smooth and comfortable shave while helping reduce shaving irritation. It combines five carbon-coated precision blades with Skin Guards, a built-in Shock Absorb system and water-activated hydrating gel pools enriched with menthol. The cartridge also has a flip-back precision trimmer for edging and difficult-to-reach areas.
Blade technology
Carbon-coated precision blades: The blades have a carbon coating intended to provide sharpness for a close shave.
Skin Guards: Protective structures around the blades help smooth the skin surface and reduce irritation.
Shock Absorb: The handle/head system is designed to adjust to shaving pressure, providing greater control.
Hydrating gel pools: The water-activated gel reservoirs are enriched with menthol and designed to provide hydration and comfort while shaving. Wilkinson Sword says its moisturising gel formula contains Hyaluronic Acid and can keep skin moisturised for up to two hours after shaving.
Flip-back trimmer
The top section of the cartridge can be flipped back to expose the precision-trimming area. This is intended for facial-hair edging and hard-to-reach areas.
How long do the blades last?
Wilkinson Sword states that Hydro 5 blades can last approximately 18 shaves when shaving three times per week. The brand also recommends changing blades when performance decreases; another official page recommends changing approximately every 2 weeks. Actual life depends on shaving frequency and hair type.
Compatibility
The Hydro system is reusable: Hydro blade refills are compatible across the Hydro range, so replacement Hydro cartridges can be fitted to the reusable handle.
