How to Use

• Slice thinly and add to fresh salads.
• Roast with olive oil, salt and pepper.

• Chop the feathery fronds as a fresh garnish or herb.

Preparation

Wash the fennel thoroughly under cool running water. Trim the base and stalks as required. The bulb can be halved or quartered and sliced. For very thin raw slices, a mandoline can be used. The stalks and fronds are also edible and can be retained for cooking or garnishing.

Storage

Keep fresh fennel refrigerated. For best quality, store it loosely wrapped or in a suitable bag in the refrigerator and avoid washing until ready to use. Depending on freshness and storage conditions, fennel can generally keep for several days, with some guidance recommending up to around 5 days for best quality.
